The Art of personalization

Hennessy X.O has built its legacy on craftsmanship and collaborations that redefine luxury. But as collector demand for personalization grew, the available tools hadn't moved — engraving, custom labeling, surface changes to a design that stays the same. The question wasn't how to modify the decanter. It was whether every collector could receive an artwork that had never existed before.
With generative artist Florian Zumbrunn, we built an autonomous algorithm inspired by the Maison's heritage, capable of infinite compositions within a single aesthetic identity. Collectors generated their own design online, then saw it materialize at the Hennessy boutique in Cognac, where a custom-built robotic arm — an extension of the artist's hand — applied it to the decanter's second skin in 32,000 dots and 15 shades. Each piece was completed with a fine-art print signed by the artist.

The collection sold out within days and generated over 13.5 million media impressions across luxury and innovation press. Beyond the launch, it set a benchmark for the category: proof that generative art and robotic precision can extend heritage craftsmanship rather than replace it.
